Kigo Traffic Study

Undertook an independent traffic study that will provide the most up-to-date traffic data and forecasts. The focus of the Traffic study should be the preparation of suitable macro and microsimulation models to provide the most comprehensive indication of the current and forecasted traffic engineering Measures of efficiencies at the Kigo Interchange. Assignment included; Prepare a comprehensive traffic survey plan that outlines the traffic survey program, a description, methodology and justification of all traffic surveys required; Collect other pertinent data such as socio-economic data, traffic survey data and planning data relevant local authorities in the GKMA to enable the appropriate forecasting to be undertaken; Conduct traffic and driver surveys to capture local trip characteristics and travel patterns that are missing from the existing traffic data; Construct, calibrate and validate a 2023 base year model that covers all upcoming road projects and developments along the corridor as well as captures the traffic movements with appropriate international guidelines; and, Prepare Macro model and Micro model to assess the suitable intervention at Kilgo.
