Tonga Climate Resilient Transport Project II (TCRTP II)

The Government of Tonga secured funding from the World Bank for the Tonga Climate Resilient Transport Project (TCRTP II), to facilitate the safe, efficient, and sustainable movement of goods and people in the Kingdom of Tonga, whilst strengthening the climate resilience of the transport sector. The overall objectives of this activity were: 

1. Assess the problematic locations, identify potential road safety issues for all road users occurring throughout these locations, as well as sitespecific problems and recommend treatments to reduce the risk for all road users. 

2. Produce detailed design documents, including technical specifications, detailed drawings and Bill of Quantities for the proposed safety improvement works at specific locations. 

3. Develop a set of generic design standards and guidelines applicable to the general issues identified on the road network accident occurrence for all users.
